HIGH SCHOOL!

Rhyan & Reghan left for their first day of High School today! They weren't thrilled that i whipped out the camera...but they indulged me for a quick pic:).

Rhyan telling his Dad that he would catch up to him in height .... soon! :)
Reghan waking up with her "coffee".

NEITHER one of them wanted to take this picture together...I kept saying..."closer...lean closer...PRETEND like you love each other!" lol
Abby escorted Rhyan and Reghan out of the drive on her trike. Hayden...well...he was still in bed.

We still can't believe they're in highschool...although their daddy sure is getting grey hair! hehehehe

Passing Through

Before I met Hunk of Burning Love I lived in Bowie, TX. I worked there as a massage therapist...but even better...my Aunt Cyndi & Uncle Boyce lived there too! I loved living close to them. For the first time in my life I was able to spend time with them and get to know them better...other than major holidays and such! :) Let me tell you...I love my Aunt Cyndi. She and David share the same birthday. When I lived in Bowie, she and Boyce (well... I love him too...! ) ran Bowie Cleaners. I had never been much of a cleaners girl...but WOW ... I got the family rate. $1 per item. I didn't know just how GOOD I HAD IT until i moved to Lubbock.

See...by then I was already sold on this idea: "I need to take that to the cleaners...!" The first time I paid for a NON FAMILY DISCOUNT on a load of clothes after moving from Bowie...well...the lady at the cleaners had to pick me AND my clothes up off of the floor and help me to my car.

Thank you SOOOOOO much Aunt Cyndi for giving me the family discount!

Cyndi & Boyce stopped by this evening on their way to meet mom and dad in Ruidoso, NM. It's the first time they've been to our house...and probably a few decades since they've been to Lubbock.

They were only able to stay for a little while...but...as you can see...a little while is long enough to SWING!

Love you two & please come back SOON!

Boyce isn't really excited...ever...about having a picture snapped...

Abby wanted me to "Move, Mama!"

Funny how any child will ask you to "swing me, Please!"

These are for Dad...see how tall your sister is?!

Photos from Iraq

Meg just sent me this email and a couple of photos from Zac!

SO VERY good to hear from him via Meg. Send a package if you can, email him, and continue to pray for a hedge of protection of Zac, Chris & all the troops.

Here's Meg's letter:

hey everyone
hope everyone is doing great just a few updates on zac.... i talked to him last night and he is doing good, they have been working crazy hours like 14-16 hours a day so he is exhausted....i am sending some pictures of what their work tent looks like so you can kinda get an idea of where zac works and in what.... it's crazy to me..... another thing zac's new e-mail address for the military is going to be:

zachary.lindsey@cf.mnf-wiraq.usmc.mil

Also if anyone has been adding minutes to zac's calling card you might want to try again, i don't know if anyone has tried but he hasn't had any new minutes so if you have you might want to try again it probably didn't go through if you didn't phyically talk to somebody.... if you haven't its not that big of a deal..... well i hope that this find that everyone is doing well.... i sent zac a package about a week ago and it got there in 7 days so just in case anyone was wondering it will take about 7 days from lubbock..... i keep asking him what he wants but he says he doesn't care... i know he is missing home so it will probably be nice to get an e-mail from everyone.... well if anyone has any questions just call.....

Subj: update on Zac

Hey everyone,
Sorry this is so short but I talked to Zac last night and he made it to his tent in Fallajuh.... YEAH!!!! That in itself is exciting news. He said he was tired and it was hot but other than that he said that he was fine. Also just an FYI Zac is now 8 hours ahead of us. Hope that this finds everyone is in high spirits now.

Update on Zac

Most of you know that Zac deployed to Iraq on Saturday. Meg sent this email, and I wanted to share it with you.
PRAY FOR HIM! Wow pray for God's covering on all the troops. Our cousin Chris is also there now, too.
I encourage anyone who reads this to pray for Zac, the troops, and send him a note or package. We're so proud of both Zac & Chris.

Here's the note from Meg...keep her in your prayers too... separation is realllllly hard.

"Hey everyone,
Hope this e-mail finds that everyone is doing well. I have some information that I thought everyone might like to have on Zachary. First off, I talked to Zac yesterday morning at around 4:30 AM and he is doing fine. He was in Kuwait waiting to convoy to Iraq. He said that they would convoy to Iraq and would call when he arrived there as soon as he could. I haven't heard from him yet and I hear this is one of the more important times for prayer. Convoys to Iraq and convoys from Iraq are targeted the most by insurgents. I know that Zac has plenty of protection over so just keep him in your prayers. On the lighter note I have all the information anyone needs on contacting him, sending him packages or writing him either e-mails or motomail.

If you would like to send Zac a package you can call 1-800-610-8734 and press 1 for English, and then 1 for packaging, and when you speak to the representative tell them you are calling about the military pack. They will get your name, address, and telephone number and then give you and ID number. This is an awesome free service that the postal service offers. They will send you all the materials you will need to send Zac packages (boxes, tape, wrap, customs forms, etc.) and the best part about this service is not matter how much the package weighs, the post office will only charge you $9.00 to send it to Zac. This is awesome because you get the supplies for free and only pay $9.00 to send whatever you want and you can reorder the supplies as often as you want. How awesome, I know!!! One thing I was told by other spouses was that when sending items to Zac be sure to take a picture of the items you are sending, stick the pictures in an envelope and put that in the box. The reason is because Marines still have to check the packages when they get to Iraq to make sure that there is nothing illegal in there. Some people have complained that by the time they get their stuff there are items missing that their significant other said they had put in the box. So just so Zac has proof and can give his chain of command if this instance should occur it is a great idea to send a picture of what you are sending. When I talked to him the other day he said that he didn't care what anyone sent, just as long as he got stuff, so just whatever you want to send. Remember though if you are going to send snacks or cookies, or anything like that, it is currently about 120 degrees in Iraq so things like that are probably going to melt so wrap them up plenty well!!... His address is as follows (write it just like this on the customs form and the box EXACTLY!)

Cpl. Lindsey, Zachary, T.
II MEF FWD, COMDET,
DATA
UNIT 73920
FPO AE 09509-3920

If you would like to send Zac an e-mail he has two e-mail addresses. At the moment he can not get his military one to work until he gets to Iraq so I have been sending my e-mails to both addresses. First one is zacattackttu@yahoo.com and the second one is zachary.lindsey@usmc.mil . This will probably be the best form of communication with Zac on a daily basis. He took his laptop and we are hoping that he will be able to access the internet from Iraq.

Another really cool way to contact Zac is through a thing called Motomail. Motomail is a Marine Corps unique system that prints electronically sent letters (from family and friends) in about twenty-four (24) hours to Zac in Iraq. This service is free to all users and provides bank level security without any misdirected mail. Letters are stored on a server then distributed to the correct nine digit zip code (09509-3920), printed, sealed and made available for delivery through unit mail call. The awesome thing about this is there is no middle man involved. No one reads what you send or anything, it is printed and sealed right after it prints and then given to Zac. Awesome I know. Motomail can be accessed via the website www.motomail.us and then just follow the instructions.

Last but not least, Zac has a calling card. He has asked me to ask everyone that if there is something that yall want to send or give adding minutes to this calling card is the one thing he wants most. If you're interested in adding minutes, send Steph. and email at peppersteph@gmail.com and she will walk you through the steps of adding minutes.

Okay now that I have written a complete novel for everyone to read, hope this helps. If anyone has any questions or anything they can call me anytime. As for me I am doing as well as can be expected. This is definitely something new for both me and Zac and we know the only way to come out of it on top is remembering that only with Gods help are we going to make it. Continue to pray for Zac and his safety and his safe return in hopefully no longer than 8 months. Hope everyone has a fantastic day. Please forward this to anyone that might want it, I only have a few peopel's e-mail addresses so please forward. Thank you.

With all the information she knows

Tishomingo, OK

We just returned from my Great-Grandma West's funeral in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Wow. I have so many memories of going to Grandma West's house! Image overload ahead...but these are just some shots of the first day we were there. I really can't describe how I felt when Hayden joined right in with his distant cousins! They caught grasshoppers, put them in a jug...then headed down to the pond to fish! I wish i had pictures of all the mosquito and chigger bites... :)More to come...soon.
