What to say....

I think this is the first time i've actually stopped since I left last Saturday morning to help Kristin shoot a wedding in Midland. YOu MUST go check out her blog to see how we rocked this wedding! (i borrowed this shot from her blog...)

Sunday night as David and I were getting ready to go to bed, our dear friends Joe and Jana Thomas called. Baby Maddie was not doing well. I'm not sure if I've told you about baby Maddie. She is Joe & Jana's son Tanner & Carrie's baby. She was born August 31, 2007. Her little heart had some trouble, so about a week later a fine team of Lubbock heart surgeons repaired her aorta and mitral valve

Baby Maddie was recovering well, but she developed a viral infection that simply just wore her little bitty body out. My heart has been broken all week. David and I went to the hospital around 11 p.m. SUnday night, and Maddie went to Heaven at 7 a.m. Monday morning.

Please pray for Joe, Jana, Carrie, Tanner....Carrie's parents Terry & Sue....there are so many loved ones ....Chele, Alyssa, Daniel, Trey, Kevin, Kaleb, Ashley, Hunter, Chris, Cole....please pray for all of them during this time.

I'm convinced God sent two Angels to live across the alley to Tanner & Carrie...Gregg & Kelly. Gregg is in his third year of med school, and Kelly is an athletic trainer at the Tech Rec Center. More so...they have been such incredible friends to Carrie & Tanner. Their presence at the hospital...numerous times...and all night on Sunday...wow...speaks for itself.

As for the team of doctors and nurses at Covenant. I'm speechless. They were amazing. Joe knew them all by name...and they all knew Peepaw Joe. They went above and beyond their call of duty. They were even represented by "Dr." Marty at Maddie's funeral. I will never forget how the staff affected my day when Abby was in NICU....and this team at Covenant...well they live to give life to these kids/babies...but they also do it with a gentle touch, human kindness and endless TLC to the parents and family. Thank you.

So...today we are home (me, Abby & Hayden) trying to sort through (me...) the last week...and PLAY! (And don't kid yourself...do lots and lots of laundry.)
