Hmmm....this is really hard.
Since giving birth, I am continuously brain dead. I'm in this new blog group with this crazy-cool group of girls. I'm loving it!
So...here goes an attempt....and even though they're numbered 1-5 they have no real particular order...it's just the order i thought of them! And further more...they are about as random as I am....
WAIT...First...Miss Piggy tops them all. Miss Piggy Rules. Period.
1. Bust A Move - 1991ish
Oh the memories. I'm sorry I do not have a photo. All mine are in storage down the street...and I'm not going out in the cold to retreive them...
But just imagine...me sporting around in a 1986 Chevy Celebrity (the C had fallen off...so it was really an Elebrity). There was no cassette player. My Grandpa Fred had installed a tape deck to the dash...the kind that only had fast forward. It order to decrease vibration in the car, any passenger would have to ride thier feet firmly planted in the dash.
This was our favorite song...mine, Lezlee's and Hannah's. We knew every word. Every word. Ok..i knew the end...so i would hum and then COME IN STRONG at the end of every sentence. Imagine please :).
Bust A Move
This here's a tale for all the fellas
Try to do what those ladies tell us
Get shot down cause you're over zealous
Play hard to get an females get jealous
Ok smartie, go to a party
Girls are stancin the crowd is showin body
A chick walks by you wish you could sex her
But you're standin on the wall like you was Poindexter
Next days function, high class luncheon
Food is served and you're stone cold munchin'
Music comes on, people start to dance
But then you ate so much you nearly split your pants
A girl starts walkin, guys start gawkin'
Sits down next to you and starts talkin'
Says she wanna dance cus she likes the groove
So come on fatso and just bust a move
You're on a mission and you're wishin'
someone could cure you're lonely condition
You're lookin for love in all the wrong places
Not fine girls just ugly faces
>From frustration first inclination
Is to become a monk and leave the situation
But every dark tunnel has a lighter hope
So don't hang yourself with a celibate rope
New movie's showin... so you're goin
Could care less about the five you're blowin
Theatre gets dark just to start the show
When you spot a fine woman sittin in the front row
She's dressed in yellow, she says "Hello,
Come sit next to me you fine fellow"
You run over there without a second to loose
And what comes next, hey bust a move
If you want it baby you've got it (repeat)
Just bust a move
In the city ladies look pretty
Guys tell jokes so they can seem witty
Try to tell a joke just to get some play
Then you try to make a move and she says "no way"
Girls a fakin' ... goodness sakin'
They want a man who brings home the bacon
Got no money and you got no car
Then you got no woman and there you are
Some girls are sophistic... materialistic
Looking for a man makes them opportunistic
They're lyin on the beach perpetratin a tan
So that a brother with money can be their man
So on the beach you're strollin'... real high-rollin'
Everything you have is your's and not stolen
A girl runs up with somethin to prove
So don't just stand there, bust a move
(break down)
Your best friend Harry has a brother Larry
In five days from now he's gonna marry
He's hopin you can make it there if you can
'Cause in the ceremony you'll be the best man
You say "neato"... check your libido
And roll to the church in your new tuxedo
The bride walks down just to start the wedding
And there's one more girl you won't be getting
So you start thinkin, then you start blinkin
A bride maid looks and thinks that you're winkin
She thinks you're kinda cute so she winks back
And now you're feelin really fine cus the girl is stacked
Reception's jumpin, bass is pumpin
Look at the girl and your heart starts thumpin
Says she wants to dance to a different groove
Now you know what to do g, bust a move
2. Part of you, Part of me - Glenn Frey - Thelma & Louise Soundtrack
I love this song. Loved the movie...die-hard friendship. Not sure if driving off the cliff of the moutain was the best answer...but there you go.
I searched high & low...and I couldn't find a video...of the song...just the ending of the movie :).
Anyway...awesome song. Awesome lyrics. Click to hear...and you can't hear it if you're using mozilla...just internet explorer...go figure.
Glen Frey - Part Of Me, Part Of You
I felt it when the sun came up this morning
I knew that I could not wait another day
Darling, there is something I must tell you
A distant voice is calling me away
Until we find the bridge across forever
Until this grand illusion brings us home
You and I will always be together
From this day on you'll never walk alone
You're a part of me, I'm a part of you
Wherever we may travel
Whatever we go through
Whatever time may take away
It cannot change the way we feel today
So hold me close and say you feel it too
You're a part of me and I'm a part of you
I can hear it when i stand beside the river
I can see it when i look up in the sky
I can feel it when i ...
So many miles to go before i die
We can never know about tomorrow
But still we have to choose which way to go
You and I are standing at the crossroads
Darling, there is one thing you should know
You're a part of me, I'm a part of you
Wherever we may travel
Whatever we go through
Whatever time may take away
It cannot change the way we feel today
So hold me close and say you feel it too
You're a part of me and I'm a part of you
I look at you your whole life stands before you
I look at me and I'm running out of time
Time has brought us here to share these moments
To look for something we may never find
Until we find the bridge across forever
Until this grand illusion brings us home
You and I will always be together
From this day on you'll never walk alone
You're a part of me, I'm a part of you
Wherever we may travel
Whatever we go through
Whatever time may take away
It cannot change the way we feel today
So hold me close and say you feel it too
You're a part of me and I'm a part of you
part of you, part of me, part of you
part of me, part of you
3. How Beautiful - Twila Paris
Listen Here (same disclaimer like earlier about using explorer instead of mozilla)
Another version with lyrics
Ok...lots of memories with this song. My dear friend Moma Lou sang this song ....while signing...Moma Lou died of a rare cancer four months after David and I married (we married Dec. 1, 2001...she died March 2002. She was our wedding coordinator, too. This was the song that we played instead of the traditional wedding march. Wow...it was amazing. :)

4. The Tide is High - Blondie
Who wouldn't love this song?
I was an editor for the paper in college. Wednesday nights were all-nighters...so you can imagine...we played "The Tide is High" to kick into survival mode and get the paper finalized.

Sorry, I have forgotten to read your blog until I saw the link on Kim's blog. Great songs. I have never been able to sing all the words to Bust a Move but now I can...do you have to go to Lyrics.com for that? Love the duet by Tim McGraw and Faith! What am I talking about? I love Tim McGraw period...he would so marry me if he weren't married to one of the most beautiful women in the world! Oh yeah, and if I weren't married. BTW, does your husband work for Farmers?
