Catching up ... are you kidding!?

Wow wow wow. There is never enough time in the day.
Spring Break was fabulous at mom and dads....and i have photos...but they're not ready...
Hayden had his first baseball game of the season..."coach pitch"... on Monday night...I have photos...but they're not ready either... :( He did AWESOME! And his whole team did as well! THey are quite the team, I must say! He got a hit at every at-bat - which i think is remarkable for a four-year-old!! Go Hayden & GO Muckdawgs!!!

Saturday night before we came back to Lubbock, David, my Aunt Debbie and I ran out to my other Aunt Reba's house to take some shots of her son Donnie. I was so excited b/c the sun was just beautiful. Then we arrived. And then the sun appropriately went behind the clouds ... for the rest of the night. Joy.

We had fun - Donnie is one awesome young man who is graduating from Benjamin High school in a couple of months. What I love and admire about him the most is that he is DOING what he loves - and that's riding horses and being a cowboy. And let me tell you...this guy is a cow-boy! In today's world it's so easy to get caught up in what others 'want you to be.' Not Donnie. I love you Donnie, and I'm so proud of you.

Oh it does my heart good...

When I was little I loved Eddie Rabbitt. LOVED EDDIE RABBIT.

I remember meeting him at the West Texas Fair in Abilene. OOoooh I love a Rainy Night.

The downfall of working for Ms. Mandrell was that I never met Eddie. I met a lot...including his duet partner Crystal Gayle...but not Eddie. (sniff sniff)

I remember riding around in mom & dad's 1970-something pickup listening to Eddie sing on an 8-track. Still have those 8-track tapes of his too.

And now.. Mr. McGraw has cut a cover of Eddie's song Suspicions.

AND GUESS WHO LOVES THIS SONG?

Hayden Ray Ehlers. Yep.

THe song just came on tv and he RAN in to the room so he could hear it! And he SANG and he DANCED and he CROONED. And OH HIS MAMA LOVED IT!

Briley Bove's Cotton Presentation

David's landlord - Mrs. Margaret Briley came to visit the farm in October last year. She brought along her granddaughter who made a really cool Cotton presentation for school.

I transferred it over to youtube...but I was in such a hurry that I didn't add any music. David said to hum "International Harvester" in your head while you watch.

Thank you so much Briley! Your presentation is amazing and we invite you to "come to the farm" anytime!! :)

I didn't get to see Mrs. Briley - but we sure do love you Mrs. Briley! David has farmed the Briley's land for more than 10 years now, and we always look forward to our visits. I know Mr. Briley would be so proud of Briley's presentation.

Portrait of a Dad

Passing time at IHOP. Hayden -unbeknownst to me- took numerous photos
with my phone. Here's one.
